A day for fishing.

This summer my Dad took the kids fishing at the pond (in the backyard). Samuel actually caught a fish but had no clue as to what was going on.

It was so fun seeing my Dad teach them how to cast a line. They practiced on the deck first.

Some of my fondest memories in childhood involved my Dad teaching me how to fish. He had the patience of a saint. He also would tell me these crazy fishing stories. There was always the story of how a person cast a line and caught their hook on their fishing partners ear.... Ouch!

I remember digging for earth worms before we would set out to fish.

My Dad always tells me of the first time I caught a fish. I was all excited and was reeling my fish in, when out of the water a flashy and floppy creature came towards me and I backed up yelling... but as much as I backed up the creature came toward me. I didn't understand what fishing was apparently... I was scared of the fish!
